Ingredients

For the marinade:

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Directions

1. Make the marinade: To begin, in a medium bowl mix together all of the marinade ingredients. Stir well until the honey is completely incorporated. Set aside.

2. Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a large zip-top plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, and then use your hands to mix it around so the chicken is completely coated in the marinade. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap, and then place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 24 hours).

3. Cook the chicken: Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking. Preheat the grill, grill pan, or pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken to the grill or pan, and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side (or until the chicken is completely cooked through).

4. Serve: Once the chicken is cooked, remove from the grill or pan and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken and serve, preferably over a bed of rice and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Tips

  • Make sure to preheat the grill, pan or grill pan. The key to achieving great flavor and a beautiful char on the chicken is to make sure the heat is hot enough when you first add the chicken.
  • Make sure to let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. This will help ensure the chicken stays juicy and tender.

With its bold flavors and simple ingredient list, our Asian marinade recipe is sure to become your go-to marinade for all of your chicken meals. Happy cooking!
